Chennai, August 2026: Strengthening its comprehensive liver care services, Gleneagles Hospital, Perumbakkam, Chennai, a part of the Fortis Healthcare Network, has launched a new Liver OPD Suite, a dedicated, high-capacity clinical hub for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of liver diseases. Designed as a comprehensive liver care facility, the suite brings every stage of liver disease and every age group under one roof, offering integrated care for conditions ranging from genetic liver disorders in newborns to adult liver cancer and liver transplantation.
The facility was inaugurated by Mr. RJ Balaji, Actor, Director, Radio Jockey and Philanthropist, in the presence of Mr. Anil Vinayak, Group Chief Operating Officer, Fortis Healthcare; Dr. S. Niranjani, Chief Operating Officer & Hospital Head, Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai; Dr. Joy Varghese, Director – Hepatology & Transplant Hepatology, Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai; and Dr. Biswarup Pal, Head of Medical Services, Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai.
The new Liver OPD Suite builds on the hospital’s legacy in liver care and transplantation. Recognised as one of India’s leading centres for liver care, the hospital has successfully performed more than 700 liver transplants over the past seven years.
The OPD Suite brings together dedicated services for the full spectrum of liver diseases under one roof, including specialised paediatric hepatology and paediatric liver transplant care for infants and children; a comprehensive programme for metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and other metabolic liver disorders; an integrated hepatorenal care pathway for patients with combined liver and kidney failure, including simultaneous liver-kidney transplantation; a dedicated liver oncology service for the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary liver cancers; and specialised clinical pathways for children with inherited genetic disorders that affect the liver.
